Everything we sell still passes through somebody's hands.
Our workshop is small, and it isn't in a city. The machines start early. By mid-morning the benches are covered in cut pieces waiting to be turned into something. We work in engineered wood and acrylic materials that hold a fine cut, keep their colour, and survive being shipped across the world. Every piece starts as a design drawn from scratch, and none of it is bought ready-made.
We could have set up in the city and hired fast. We chose here instead. Skilled hands are easy to find in a place like this. Steady work is not.

So the machines are run by young men who grew up nearby and had spent years out of regular work long enough that most employers had stopped reading their applications. They learned to run a CNC in a matter of weeks. Some of them cut cleaner than we do.
Assembly is done by women between thirty-five and fifty. Fitting pieces together, setting each layer straight, attaching the hooks and cords, peeling the film off the acrylic, checking every edge before it moves on. Most of them stepped away from an office years ago to raise a family, and found when they tried to go back that nobody was hiring at their age. This is the step that decides whether something feels disposable or feels worth keeping and it can't be rushed. They don't rush it.
Then a few retired women pack every order: wrapping, tying, tucking the card in. They've spent their whole lives giving gifts. They know what one should feel like when the box opens.
Most of what we make is a gift, which means the person we're really working for is someone we'll never meet and the moment we're aiming at is the one where they open the box. So we build for that moment. A name spelled right. Edges that feel finished under a thumb. Something that looks like it was chosen, not ordered. If we ever get a detail wrong, we remake it and send it expressly, no arguing and no forms.
